This quiet village can be found between Jalon and Parcent. It is surrounded with vines and almond trees which in early spring provide visitors with a beautiful white-pink view of the countryside.
The Sequilli mountain range and the Coll de Rates is nearby with many routes for mountain walkers and a viewpoint from which you can see views of nearly the whole Marina Alta.
In the centre of the village is a medieval watchtower for the whole of the Vall de Pop. It was built in the 15th century and named the Tower of the Barons. Nowadays it is the home for the municipal archives which are open to the public and have audio-visual displays. On the 3rd and 4th floors there is the Raisin Museum. The 5th floor has been glassed in and still holds a commanding view over the valley, it also houses a model of a typical Riu Rau - a traditional open arched farmhouse where grapes were dried into raisins.
Also in the centre of Alcalali is an 18th century church with a tiled plaque telling the history of the village.
